What is love?

Article - Sudhir Pai

Love, happiness, peace – there is an meaningful insight in them: they need to be expressed and shared; they are not sufficient unto themselves or on a stand alone mode. Sharing and caring is a part, but they are not insecured. The reason is totally different. The reason is that love basically gives an experience of liberation and freedom: it gives freedom to oneself, it gives freedom and happiness to others. A love that becomes a pain or bondage is not love; it is lust, it is insecured, it is not human. Love gives freedom, then it becomes human, but it is still a kind of relatedness.

There is one more spiritual dimension to love. In the first, love is a biological need; in the second it is a psychological sharing; in the third you are love. In the first it is an insecured relationship, a kind of possessiveness; in the second it is a relatedness, a friendship, a friendliness; in the third you are love itself. Your very being is love, you radiate love. Only then has love come to its crescendo – it has achieved the ultimate, the last – you can call it godliness or ultimate level of enlightenment !

Financial Freedom before age 45.

Article - Himanshu Gada

15th August 2018, India celebrated it's 72nd Independence Day. The entire nation erupted with a sense of happiness of being independent.

Let's go back in history on 15th August 1947 - 32 crore Indians felt like a free bird breathing happily in an independent nation

But - How many of us have thought of becoming financially independent before age 45?

Real Life Case :

Ankit Tiwari (Name Changed) and his spouse decided to retire by age 45 and enjoy a beautiful life in Nainital hills enjoying their passion of teaching music to the students.

How they achieved it?

Start Young - Ankit says, he planned it all in 2nd year of graduation. He used to do part time job and remembered his father's advice who was a financial advisor and gave him advice:

- Save and Invest First.
- Spend the remaining amount.

Every month, he put aside a small amount in investment and used rest of money on expenses, which he monitored closely.

Few days back, I was talking to some HR managers and they said that when they recruit, they prefer taking candidates below age 40. So, it becomes very important that :

1) We must plan to become financially independent before age 45.
2) And after age 45, we can take up our hobbies and make it into our profession.

How?

- By approaching a good financial advisor.
- Starting early with investment planning.
- Being disciplined by saving and investing first and spending remaining for expenses.

When we want to do our health check up, we don't just walk into a chemist shop and ask for medicines we saw on YouTube or read on Google. It can be dangerous to our health. We first approach a qualified and a competent doctor who asks our medical history, does a proper health check up and then suggest future course of action. If we listen to our doctor, even dangerous disease like cancer can be cured.

Something similar with our financial health. Like a good doctor, we must approach a qualified financial advisor which I would prefer to call as financial doctor who will do a proper need analysis (past history of our finances) and then recommend a proper solution (systematic financial plans), which will help us to get our finances on track and ensures that we experience financially independent before 45.

Once, we are financially independent before age 45, we experience happiness and satisfaction that we have achieved financial freedom and are free to follow our heart, follow our passion of taking up our hobbies like farming or music or travel or painting and convert that passion into profession after age 45.

I have been helping lot of people to get their finances on track. They did.
Even, You can !

Art of Retirement Planning

Financial Advisor Himanshu Gada gives insights on Retirement planning and Medical emergency expenses.
Article - Sudhir Pai
07 August 2018, a wet cloudy monsoon Mumbai morning, I had a pleasure to meet Mr. Himanshu Gada of Gada Advisory over a cup of hot steaming coffee and have a meaningful discussion on financial planning by individuals to take care of their retirement and medical emergencies.

Himanshu Gada
Founder (Gada Advisory)

Retirement Planning :

Himanshu Gada says, that a person who start planning about retirement when he or she is young actually lives a happy retired life.
Retirement planning is an acquired habit and is a systematic process of thinking, planning and managing your short and long-term finances to help achieve your financial dreams both during your working years when you are young and healthy and retired life when you are old and sick. It also involves analysing your financial objectives, current financial position and expected future cash flow to develop a comprehensive retirement roadmap.
Medical Insurance :
Emergency medical expenses may result in severe financial distress.
We must ensure that we keep retirement planning and medical insurance separately and do not mix the two in order to ensure that we have a steady cash flow in both circumstances.
If we do not plan the above two separately, then you may have to dip into your savings or sell your assets to meet such expenses. Thus, we see how important it is for one to take care of healthcare planning before retirement. You don’t want to be stuck in a limbo or become dependent on someone else, even if they are your own children.
You also need to plan for :
• Medical Emergency
• Buying a Home
• Tax planning
• Parenthood
• Job Transition
• Children’s Education
• Children’s Marriage
• Retirement Corpus
• Post Retirement payout
• Insurance

Project Global Parli

Article - Sudhir Pai
Shri Mayank Gandhi needs no introduction. A torch bearer in IAC (India Against Corruption), then a senior member in AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) and now a full time social activist heading an ambitious project in rural Maharashtra called as Project Global Parli with a spiritual touch.

I was following Mayank ji on social media, TV, newspaper since his IAC days and was very impressed by his integrity and honesty. When I came to know about his involvement with social activity called as Global Parli, I was very excited to know more about this humanitarian work, so I sent a message on Facebook. Within 3 days, Mayank ji gave me appointment and I was in his office at sharp 1 pm in Santacruz.

He was conducting meeting with a team of social activists and suggested me to join in. His meeting was conducted in a very open, friendly and focussed. After the meeting, we straight away came to one to one discussion about Global Parli. And this is what he told me about his current project. Mayank ji seemed to be inspired by some spiritual and mystical energy as he was talking about Global Parli.

Project Global Parli.

There are three key buttons in national life that can lead to transformation  - Politics, economy and thought process. Mayank ji had been involved with politics with a view to change the political agenda of the country, that could form the right policies for the nation. The churning in politics had begun and now it was time for him to disengage from politics and work on the second front – economy. He quit politics completely in November 2015.

While the urban economy is alright, it’s the rural economy that needs rejuvenation. The fountainhead for that is water. With adequate water, it would be possible and easier to kickstart the rural economy. With that in mind, Mayank ji took up a cluster of 12 villages in Parli tehsil of Beed district in Marathawada. He, along with his team intends to develop these villages in a 360 degree manner to increase their per capita income by 250% in 3 years in a sustainable manner.

Therefore, water conservation, water management, crop selection and management, direct-to-consumer supply chain, cattle and dairy activities, education and vocation training, health and replication of these practices is what he has worked on.

Drip Irrigation

Considering three consecutive years of drought in Marathwada region and weak monsoon last year, drip irrigation is the need of the hour. It is an incredibly efficient watering method that slowly delivers water directly to a plant’s root system (where it is really required). Other common irrigation devices like sprinklers spray water onto plant leaves as well as the surrounding soil wasting a lot of water in the process.
The villages in our target region mostly grow cotton so drip irrigation will bring down their water requirement to 1/10th. Drip irrigation not only makes agriculture possible within limited water but also brings about higher yields by 20-30%. To put it in perspective, it will almost double the income of the farmers.
The cost to set up drip irrigation is Rs.1, 30, 000 per hectare. Jain Irrigation, who is the drip irrigation provider, is giving a special discount of 12.5% for Global Parli. The govt. subsidy to marginal farmers for buying drip irrigation systems is 45%. Over and above, UPL, India’s foremost agri-input company and our donor will pay 12% of the cost.

Transforming India using a replicable model of Rural Rejuvenation.

·         - Global Parli is not just social work, but an endevour to build India..

·         - Global Parli will act as a platform for other NGOs/CSR depts. /individuals that want to support the villagers directly in these 15 villages.

·         - Govt passes its duties to NGOs, which is unfortunate. Global Parli will act as catalyst to implement govt schemes for the people.

Principles on which Global Parli is operating.

·         Villagers are used to doles which has diluted their self respect and character. Global Parli will stir villages to self reliance.
·         Will focus on what is good for the people. No imposition of political, religious, social or moral ideology on the villagers.

·         Global Parli will act as a platform for other NGOs/CSR depts. /individuals that want to support the villagers directly in these 15 villages.
