The Sanatan Dharma is the fulcrum of Holistic Wellness because it is centric to the optimization of Body Biochemistry. As is colloquially said, the gut dictates all systems of the body.*We are what we eat...* hence, the method of consuming food is fundamental to how much we benefit from it.
The posture at mealtime is centric to the joy that a meal brings to our soul. The Vedic Posture recommended by our Ancestors is known as Sukhaasan. The literal meaning of this Science oriented word is Pose or posture of joy, peace and oneness with the environment.
Sukhasana, also known as the Easy Pose, is a seated yoga asana that is suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners. It is a cross-legged position that involves sitting with an upright spine, shoulders aligned above the glutes, and body weight evenly distributed over the sitting bones. Some researchers refer to it as Bhartiya Baithak - the manner of seating in our Bharatvarsha.
Now let's look at the Science - the posture allows for many positive undertones.
#The first is that we are in a position of complete comfort, hence we are ready to embark on a delightful Gastronomical journey.
#Secondly, we are able to visually sample our food before actually eat it.Wow this sight oriented devouring heightens our taste buds function.
# Thirdly, the gut is in keeping with gravity - our stomach freely swinging in our abdomen to receive what we ingest.
Is this not enough food for thought, dear readers.
So,what are you thinking, sit in Sukhaasan and enjoy what Devi Annapurna has provided for you.
As is said aptly in the Sanskrit shloka - *UDAR BHARAN NOHE - JANIJE YADNA KARMA*( Eating is not merely an act of filling one's stomach- it is a Vedic Yadna( experiment) one conducts with one's Biochemistry.
So here's happy experimenting!
